Awesome and Informative
This one is the best. His presentation of magic as a whole in The Art and Meaning of Magic, and the means of directing one's life force via his presentation of The Art of True Healing, are pretty awesome. His meditation essay is really good primer. Though I must say Qabala was, and still is, not of any interest to me so the two essays there are a waste of time for me. I have studied KBL, and all I see in it is a symbolic system that may or may not be used to integrate another system, but it still is just another system of symbols to me. I am a magician of the postmodern (and somewhat chaos) flavor, where I see no inherent meaning in anything and it is in an individuals power to convey meaning to anything as he, or she, sees fit when it is necessary to convey change according to one's intention. So again KBL is of no use to me unless I choose it to have meaning. But my personal opinion doesn't detract from the information's value when that value is sought, So i give this book 5 stars.

One of Regardie's greatest collections
These essays will give you a great foundation in both magickal theory and practice. The final essay "The Art of True Healing" has been published as a separate book in itself and gives a complete explanation of his middle pillar ritual as well as practical uses for it. The Qabala articles are great as a quick jump start into theory. If you want to buy one Regardie book, this is it.

Not really for beginners.
This book was not written for greenies like but but I am trying to piece the information together. I hope it will be useful someday.

Foundations of Practical Magic
This is an excellent book but not for the rank beginner. The language style makes it harder to read but for those who have studied other materials, the information is well worth the effort.

An old friend in my library
I read the original over 35 years ago. I was a young man then. But this book set the tone for my life in magic. If you are looking for a foundation to build on this book is for you. It has the middle pillar ritual in it. I have been doing this ritual for 35 years. This book is very informative. Gives a basic explanation of qabbala and the divine names. Actually it's a great book. An old friend in my library
